Jobless Situation makes More Women apply to Dancer Jobs

USA today is reporting that because of the tough economy, girls that lost their jobs are looking to take off their clothes to pay the bills. Employers in the adult entertainment industry saw an increase of job applicants.

"You're seeing a lot more beautiful women who are eligible to do so many other things," said Gus Poulos, general manager of New York City's Sin City gentleman's club. He said he got 85 responses in just one day to a recent job posting on Craigslist. -- USA Today.

"As a bartender and trainer at a national restaurant chain, Rebecca Brown earned a couple thousand dollars in a really good week. Now, as a dancer at Chicago's Pink Monkey gentleman's club, she makes almost that much in one good night." -- USA Today

The other side to that is that some clubs are taking a hard hit on their economies...

With the unemployment rate at 10.3 percent in January, Rhode Islands Foxy Lady is looking to hire highly qualified people that otherwise would not have asked for a job on a Strip Club.

This Saturday (3-21-09) The Foxy Lady in Rhode Island will have a job fair that is looking to attract about 150 good resumes, to fill out around 30 positions.

Jenyne Butterfly wins the US Pole Dance Championship Jenyne Butterfly



The The US Pole Dance Federation (USPDF) hosted the first annual US Pole Dance Championship. Be advised, this is not a strip competition, the rules of the contest state:  "No nudity, no G-strings or thongs. Violation of this requirement leads to immediate disqualification." So this competition was more about the dancing, acrobatics and art of dancing around a pole. Jenyne Butterfly was the favorite among the contestants (12 of them), but some contestants like Lauren Goldstein, Alethea Austin and Sarah Cretful where looking for the medal . In the end Jenyne got the first place and Miss USPDF, Sarah Cretul got the Miss Trixter award, and Alethea Austin got Miss Sexy The winner gets to be on the Front Page of Pole2Pole Magazine, a trip to Australia for the Miss Pole Dance Australia competition and a choice...

Cheetah Hallandale Gets in Trouble

19 People got arrested on a prostitution sting at Cheetah Hallandale (that by the way is one of my favorite clubs). The club had been under investigation by the Hallandale Police Vice Intelligence and Narcotics.

No word yet on re-opening the club, there where 16 dancers arrested, 2 managers and 1 guy that got arrested for drug distribution charges.

Lady GaGa Recalls her Stripping Days

In a recent interview by a UK newspaper, Lady GaGa (the club singer sensation behind "Just Dance") remembers when she was working at strip clubs when she was 18 years old.

Lady GaGa comes from a wealthy Italian family, but ran away early on and started stripping to be able to support herself. Then she started writing songs for artists like Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls when she decided to take a piece of the pie by herself.



With her attitude, looks and smarts it looks like the sky is the limit.

Stripper Tax A Brooklyn assemblyman wants everyone to pay a $10 state tax fee everytime someone visits a strip club.

He's looking to raise taxes (as much as $500 million) for victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, sexual abuse and child prostitution.

"The bottom line is, we have to protect people who have been victimized by unscrupulous individuals, and we cannot continue, especially in this economy, to have government pay for everything"

Ok, here's my thought on all of this, first of all, the goverment pays for things that the people pay first (via taxes). Second, if they approve that, then lets lobby to create the following taxes as well:

Taxes to go to churches ($25 tax fee, for the victims of unscrupulous priests), A tax for visiting a bank ($45 tax fee, for the victims of foreclosures, market losses and credit crunches, hey everyone got screwed), A tax for visiting any goverment bulding ( $150 tax fee for the victims of any type of goverment abuse, $150...
