A recent article on the New York Times talks about how, even while the economy was collapsing, Rick's Cabaret in in Wall Street was packed with the corporate types.

The article cites sociologist Sudhir Venkatesh, who studies the "sex-worker" industry, who predicts a hit on business for the Strip Clubs in Wall Street, but that the escort business will stay afloat, because they provide emotional support for their clients. Nice, now I know that if I have any emotional issues it's better to go with an escort than a shrink.
So far it seems like all those gents where at Rick's last week to celebrate and spend the last couple of dollars they got from my mortgage (that is until congress gives them my taxes as well so that they can keep going to get their lapdances).
The New York Post is not so rosy, they do acknowledge that clubs are being hurt. Quote: "The strippers at Penthouse Executive Club are all moaning and groaning" (humm, that does not sound too bad.. sorry quote continues) "They say the arent making anything at all since the market crashed".
Overall I think when the economy is bad, everyone get's hurt. Strip Clubs are here for entertainment so they do bring an escape from every day hurdles, free lunch buffettes and happy hours are great if combined with a decent dancer on stage.
