Like any entrepreneur, the sound of a networking event always turns my head. The possibility of new business connections, some drinks, and meeting new people are always A+ on my list, so I headed to the Lions Den on friday sept 12.

Initially I did not know what to expect, as far as networking goes it's almost always a gamble, sometimes they are good, sometimes they are bad. But for the $20 ticket that included unlimited food, unlimited drinks (during the event), I had to try it out. I got there early because I wanted
to talk to the managers of the club prior to the event but to my surprise the parking lot was already full (a good sign indeed).
The moment I walked in, beautiful Jennifer greets you with her smile. Trust me her smile alone will make you wanna go to this club everyday. The place was already packed. I said hello to Jay (club manager) and headed straight to the bar in the back (I was determined to recoup my $20 investment). Claire and Tatiana where giving out drinks non stop and I asked for my default drink of choice, rum and coke (first of many that night).
I took a quick look around and found out that not only the place was packed, there where many girls all over the place, many of them model looking type ! Then my attention was drawn to the food, the food offering was really good, LD kept their promise of gourmet food. After the initial impression I said to myself, "well business first" and started looking around for the networking people, as it happens, the club was all open, so people where spread out (regular club goers and networking folks), it would've been better if a section of the club was "reserved" just for the event that way you don't approach someone that definitely does not want to talk to you.
Eventually found my first "networkers".

Carrie and Richard from Abi's Place , they where there promoting their fund raiser. Carrie was really digging into the food, and told me that it was a lot better than expected (keep the food up LD). Exchanged cards with several other folks, who like me where attracted by the combination of business, drinks & food. This is Definitely a magic combination.
Met these 3 guys, I asked 3 guys Chris Joe and Alex, if they liked the event, and they told me that they come to the club 3 to 4 times per week. So the answer was yes :)
Then I saw Diane walking around, oh my god !!!! This girl is beyond description,
you have to see her to believe it. I was desperately looking for my "free dance token" (yes I got one at the entrance), when she was distracted by someone else. damn the man. the rest is history, I need to go back and find Diane and say hello to Jennifer. Oh yes, and get some food.
I got out of the club drunk and happy. I will return.
